After being away for a few months I was kinda wondering why no one was really posting on the site anymore,at least not the people who matter and not at all like they use to. But after looking through alot of this SHIT I now know why. What the fuck happened to this place man. It's seems a fuckton more commercialized and trendy.

    1. Great you want a '59 hearse. Stand in line just like the hundreds of other kids that have come on here before you over the years. Most of us are tired of hearing it.

    2. "Hey guys, I always wanted a hearse and yadda yadda".....Great good for you. Welcome to the bandwagon. Statistically speaking, you'll probably end up with something from the mid 80's, and think it's cool. Guess what, it isn't. "Here's your sign"...........

    3. When the only people left to make feel uncomfortible, are the blue haires that get worked up over a 2 for 1 sale at the local Wal Mart, or anyone who is in anyway religiously centered, it's time to quit trying so hard to be "different". You're making yourself look like a drama queen and an asshat.

I dunno why I decided to go on a rant. Maybe it's cause I been drinkin in the garage with a couple of friends, and although I am probably only a drink or two away from having to find Ganci's back porch, I stand by this.

This public service announcement has been provided by: Assholes who talk too much when they drink. You will not be returned to your regularly scheduled programming. Not that you give a shit about that either.

Wow. I just realized when I drink too much and I am by myself I turn into Foamy the squirrel.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Well then keep posting on here with us Straycat & help make it better, make it into what you remember. Yes hearses are "trendy" always have been, always will be. Lotsa people join up to look for a hearse, buy it, & sell it... then they're gone. Some talk the talk of wanting one but never take the plunge. In the '60's only the hippies wanted hearses for party wagons, then it evolved to every rock group wanting a "death car" to haul their band equipment so they look cool at the club. Nowdays people associate hearses with the "Goth" movement.
      2. "Hey guys, I always wanted a hearse and yadda yadda".....Great good for you. Welcome to the bandwagon. Statistically speaking, you'll probably end up with something from the mid 80's, and think it's cool. Guess what, it isn't. "Here's your sign"...........
My '51 Superior is sitting outside right now, waiting on a carrier to pick it up... didn't want to sell but working for the auto industry & down to 3 - 4 days a week forced the subject. So I flew to Tampa saturday (yes I made a HUGE profit on the '51) and bought apparently to you an "uncool" 1980 S&S Victoria. She's already been to the exhaust shop for Flowmaster duals & awaiting her new Torque-Thrust wheels & tires to be delivered. The coach is MINT other than that & hammered home 1153 miles with no problems. It WILL be cool... already is. NEWS FLASH: 1964 Impala "door factories" AIN'T COOL EITHER, but you love it anyway. I have a door factory too (actually several) check out my albums here. Some people love them, most HATE them.
I'm sure others will post to this, you're gonna fire up a lot of people with your rant but hey just speak your mind I guess. That's what we all do on here. Sure a lot of people come & go on NHAA, but i'm here to make friends, read all their stories, & help when I can. Hopefully you'll stay around on here & keep posting with us... but you've went away before like the "others that matter" as you said, so stick around on here & don't read with beer goggles on anymore LOL!

First off, there are FAR less Impalas on the road than your 80's model hearses. That was one reason why the wife and I sold both of ours, another reason is just that they feel cheap in comparason to any commercial chassis coach, plain and simple. There have been many conversations, on this board included, focused on the same subject. Seems to be a common concensus.

Secondly, this rant was mainly focused towards our local group. Hence the reason why it was posted in the Dead-Ends portion. And things here will never be the way they were. That is just an impossibility at this point. There was a time we were flat out fucking HATED. We would literally crash a carshow and people would start puking in their sweet tea just at the sight of us. A time where Jeff Martin, who was at the time a very quiet and I'll admit at times creepy SOB, would feel the need to stand up and scream " IF YOU AREN'T DOWN WITH HEARSES, THEN YOU CAN SUCK IT", and it made people very upset. It was great. But those days are over.We used to get our coaches out of the junkyard fresh out of the home for less than half the price they are going for now. And drive the bitches home! And the smaller coaches now are a dime a dozen. Weused to always be on the look out for coaches sitting around, and when one was found, everybody took a group trip to see it, and more often than not, one of us took it home. Now, nobody seems to give a shit anymore.

I dunno, maybe it's just because I'm gettimg older. When we started this, back when we were still a part of Grim Rides, I was still in my teens. Now I'm less than a year away from 30. I just decided to take a moment (admitedly at the absolute wrong time) to take a look back and reflect on everything. And it's all just very, very unfortunate.

your opinion is exactly that, your opinion. While you may associate 80's hearses with goths, in reality almost no goths drive them. there's only one other person in the atlanta scene with a hearse - and that's elvis. If you count zach and dj xanthus, that's a total of what, 4 hearse owners and 3 people on the forums here.

it sounds like you're more interested in making people puke in their drinks than coaches anyway. i'm sure you can figure out many ways to do that, it just *depends* on how creative you are.

That right there makes me gag a bit...

It's the curse and blessing of our own successes as a community. Back in the day when we started this (when Straycat was member #3 and before we even found Grim Rides) it was a mad dash to find people that were into hearses and we just kind of accepted them as it was. It's not that terribly surprising that some of the original group is still around and kicking, just not as much as maybe in the beginning.

There was some shit that went on last year that made me very very very over the entire hearse community and club and all that, and so I did a terrible job as president because I just didn't give a shit any more. I realized later on that it was petty and silly to let just one set of events affect my outlook and ultimately hurt the community. So I have a new idea and a new vision and in some ways it is going to make me grossly unpopular for a while but it gets us back to our roots - albeit somewhat aggressively.

Billy and I are on the same page as far as what happened to the club and community (although I do disagree on the '80s thing - after having a shitload of older models that were in fact cooler, the most reliable one I ever had was a mid 80's shitbox and I miss having air conditioning and getting more than a single digit gas mileage). I have some details left to sort out with David and Needles but soon it will be badass.

Nothing wrong with the 80's cars. I think the most fun hearse I had was the Buick Eurika. Get in it and go anywhere. I had air, heat, a radio, seatbelts, gas mileage, didn't have to worry about some dick running a light and totaling a rare Flxible. I don't agree with the comment about far less impallas on the road than an 80's hearse. Impallas are common. I can show you 4 1964 impalla four doors with in a 5 mile radius of my house. I like them. Hell I've had a few but they are everywhere. The only hearses I ever see are mine or already in the club.

Well, then I obviously get out more than a few poeple, or I just live in a more populated area or something, cause I know of 2 4 door impalas, and 1 2 door SS in this town or the three surrounding it, and I need 2 hands to count the mini hearses........

But whatever. Parts of what I originally said were opinions, but the majority are based on known fact and conversation with others. I don't really care what anyone says about it, I mean seriously. I've been around here longer than most and I have never been one to give a shit about hurting someone's feelings.

As for Ganci's plans. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride..................

I didn't buy a hearse to scare people, that was just an added bonus, I bought the hearse because I love them. I will never get rid of mine regardless of what other projects I start.
Helcat and I have a 1963 Chevy Biscayne wagon sitting in storage that we will be starting back on when we bring it home in a few months and that won't change my love of the hearse.

No you don't. But I bet there are alot on here that think that way. There's a majority of douchebags now.

This thread was started with purpose. And it has worked better than I had originally hoped, I didn't think people would care so much. I wonder what else I can say to get a rise out of people............

                              That sounds like fun already.

I too agree with Billy (also excepting the 80's hearses generalization as far as the rear wheel ones anyway) Thats one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the rose hill trip. well, that and it'll be good for before and after pics of us fatasses.
