It's no biggie Marc - what we are going for is a traditional hot rod type club - not an actual hot rod club. Meaning - we don't just let anybody in, we might do pledges, dues, have actual rules to prevent being overrun with douchebags, and get real commitment to the club from it's members. I wouldn't want people to have to turn their cars into something they don't want to, I have a certain style that I like and I will build my car according to my own tastes and preferences, but those are uniquely my own and my car to do that with. I wouldn't dream of inflicting my automotive will on someone elses car.
As far as the now defunct Mustang club - you can only explain the difference between DOT approved tires and drag radials so many times before you realize how fucking stupid people can be. I'm not a fan of people who are too cool for their own good and can't have any fun because they take their hobbies too seriously - it just wasn't my scene, and I'm not a fucking hick, so it wasn't worth it. There were some good folks in that club, and I keep up with some of them still - just as with any group, but on the whole it kinda sucked.
