The paper work is getting faxed today. Im doing power for both displays. I figured I do have 1 zombie that needs it and he will really add to the display. I'm not asking anyone to help with this, just do what yall can to add anything our club display. I want to make everyone say "NOLA HEARSE CAME OUT AND REALLY SHOOK UP THE SHOW" I don't care if we win best club display I just really want to make them nervous. Also still waiting on some answers from Kal.
On another note if yall have somethings that need power let me know so I can bring enough extension cords. I already have about 20- 50 foot cords planned with some 3 prong connectors. The convention center states they are really careful of the condition of the cords etc.. I have commercial stuff so let me bring my stuff and I'll deal with the guy if he inspects for anything. Just let me know if yall have a need for power to something. Power is limited to basically lighting. stuff that draws high amps may be a problem mainly in the horror side since my controller can use as much as 12 amps.Last edited by LorcinLS1; 01-13-2012, 11:34 AM.

For now we still are planning to go in wed for set up. We do have until Friday when it opens to complete everything, but I don't intend to take that much time working on the display. The main objective for wed is floor cover, placement of cars and from there we can set up whatever. What has been done so far is just a general plan, it looks good on paper , but may not be too practical, so be flexible. Sometimes what looks good on paper doesn't work in a real setting.Things may have to be moved. Most of all have fun. I've come up with a few additions that haven't been discussed so ill see how they work out. Mainly these things have just hit me in the last 2 days. I've also come to realize I live for this shit, friends, horror, zombies, hearses, can't wait.

I got the spider, plenty of webs, 2 30 gal bags of moss and a hatchet. What car parts? Hubcaps, fan, starter, alternator, connectng rods. Got a chainsaw or 2. BTW, I am very flexable!Last edited by travlinman; 01-20-2012, 02:03 PM.

if you have a chainsaw that you dont mind possibly having some blood on it, bring it. kirk sent me a pic of a few rusty tools hes bringing for the zombie garage sceen they are putting together. im bringing some car parts, general stuff you would see lying around a garage. soooo anything you want to bring for that would be good too, they may want to blood them up, so if its something you dont want gored etc.. make sure to let kirk and shannon know. im gonna drive around today looking for crash sites, best places for broken parts.

YAYZ! Ray, you are on the ball!! thanks for gathering up moss and other goodies, and just bring whatever car parts, tools, chainsaws, etc you can that you don't mind getting some bloody ooze on. lollz.
ANOTHER UPDATE!!
talked to Kal this morning. found out a few things: we load whether it's raining or not. so let's hope it doesn't rain, but bring towels and stuff to dry your car off, do touch ups if you need to. i'll bring my detail bag full of polishes, tire shine, glass cleaner, wood polish, leather treatment, etc. feel free to ask to borrow something if you need it.
also, we are a go for dressing up in whatever we want (goth, horror costumes, zombies, etc... i plan to dress up every day! woot!) and we can even do the skits that Shannon and Kirk had talked about for the zombie side and with a video camera/fake interviewer and everything. the only caveat he told me is that if anyone complains, we may have to modify what we do or stop altogether. i think as long as we keep it fun and limit the gore (for the kiddies sakes) then we should be okay.
Kal said he doesn't know anything about the trailers and campers yet (prices, etc). they are supposed to discuss that at a meeting monday night. Ray, i know that is sucky for you. are you still planning to bring the camper or do you wanna crash with us or sumthin (doggies welcome)? just lemme know.
one other thing i wanted to bring up for those of you who are not used to these kind of shows, if you have a moment and you want to throw together a "show board" it is something that looks nice with the car. and judges and people like them cuz they can read up on the car. it can just be a picture frame with pics and info on the car in it. here is an example of the one we have for Bee cuz i already have a picture of it on photobucket. this was literally thrown together in a day.
just something to think about...
ok meet time: we are scheduled with Kal to start loading in at 6pm this coming Wednesday. so we need to get there for 6 or a little before. if some of you have work and cannot make it there for exactly six, that's okay. just get there as soon as you can. we may also be loading in with a bunch of other cars so we may have a bit of a line getting in. i don't know. just be prepared for it in case. for those of you who can meet at Tony's, meet up for 5 and we have to leave at 5:30 sharp. if you cannot meet (or are not meeting) at Tony's for that time, you can meet us at the convention center. we are loading into the convention center on the far south side. basically, take convention center blvd down to the south end of the convention center (by hall J) and take a left onto Henderson street. if you've been to the east bank mardi gras world, that's kinda where we will be heading. you can look it up on google maps by putting in 900 convention center blvd and scrolling around until you see henderson street and mardi gras world. Kal said there is a loading door on the side facing henderson street and that's where we have to go in. i'm sure there will be other cars around to follow inside. and if anyone gets lost, you can always call me at 610-8762 or scott at 237-2010.
last but not least, we did some inventory today, and i encourage others to post up any new items you plan to bring. or if you were working on bringing something, post up whether you got it or not. here's an abridged version of some of the stuff we are bringing:
masks + paint (hazmat) suits
barricade/orange fence/barrel
tombstone and ooze bucket barriers
clear plastic garbage bags
baseball bats/tools/spare tires/spare skully door/fenders/crowbar/axes/etc
TV with zombie news dvd
lights and cords for animated lighting
tons of mannequins/figures/phantasm scene/etc
chrome sign with posters (thanks, Kellie!!)
little foam pumpkins
extra masks and costumes
Tony, we still need your empty tool box, blood colored paint, paint masks and suits, body parts, skulls + bones, and grim reaper heads. i need to get with John about the NOLAhearse signs and see how much we owe him.
Kellie, i have you down for Freddy, body bag with wolfman, and strobe. if you have other stuff i don't have listed, feel free to bring it!
Kirk and Shannon, i know y'all are working on getting makeup artists/actors, homemade blood, old rusty tools, ZBBC signs, etc. don't forget to bring the video camera!! and that goes for everybody, don't forget to bring your cameras!!
Ray and Jeff, y'all sound all set. just let me know if y'all need anything else from us.
on the horror side, we have three strobes as part of the animated lighting available for inside hearses. i can't remember but i think scott had brought this up before and i think some of y'all were interested. so, Jeff, Kellie, and Tony, lemme know if any of you are interested in having a strobe in your car and we'll set it up. if you don't want it, it's totally cool. just an option.
ok i think that's about it. i think my fingers are numb. it's getting close now!! i'm sooo excited!! this is gonna be so much fun. if you have any last minute questions, concerns, ideas... throw 'em out there and we will work to answer, settle, and incorporate them. YAYZ!! (forgive me for any typos, didn't have time to proofread)
