  • Light on top

Hey guys and gals, Does the light that some hearses have on top come off? And how do you remove it?

The headliner should have a zipper. Mine was held on by a wing nut.

My old hearse had a zipper in the headliner and a regular nut that held it, plus there was some silicone sealer I had to break the light free of to remove it from the car.

So does that mean theres a hole left in the top?

if there was a hole driled in the roof for a bolt there will be a hole there when you take it out. You can probably seal it up with some silicone thoe

My old hearse had a white painted carriage bolt siliconed into the hole with a nut on the bottom. It was white to match the white vinyl top.

Had a couple of those (with lights on top) over the years...the older ones were usually a single huge bolt with a nut on bottom holding it on with a metal contact that supplied power to the light (at least that was the way it was on the '70 Superior Combination) while the last one (a '94 Eagle) was held in place with 3 bolts and a power supply line through a (fourth) central hole.
