well, i ripped out what remained of the table. I don't think that I am going to rebuild the table I think on the hump I will construct a bench seat. and behind that a partial table with rollers and perhaps some subs between the rollers. At this point nothing is set in stone. IMAG0539.jpgIMAG0545.jpgIMAG0542.jpgIMAG0541.jpg

That is so cool. You can't beat it for the price either. I'm rather envious of the floors actually. Compared to mine, those are mint.

well folks, if you haven't noticed i seem to be using this thread to document the restoration/customization process i took out the seats and the rest of the carpeting. I also did a bunch more cleaning of the engine. IMAG0557.jpgIMAG0555.jpgIMAG0558.jpgIMAG0554.jpgIMAG0556.jpgIMAG0553.jpg

Well, the engine fires, and it looks as though the fuel pumps works properly. also the interior lights, break lights and the reverse lights all work appropriately.

I was told something very interesting today about this Pontiac. Apparently it was fitted with a custom made gas tank, which I am told is a 50 gallon tank. Oy! Can't wait to fill that! $$$$ The tank appears to be strapped in. Which should make it easy to take out and clean, but it looks like after the tank was put on a tow hitch was nicely welded on to the cars frame, and I don't know if I will be able to get the tank out. This will be my project for tomorrow (assuming I can get some help) There is no way I am going to attempt to pull this out on my own. It is massive, and probably very heavy

Oh I also found another indication that this might be a combo car. (apart from the rear windows that roll down and the doors have handles) I found a patched hole about halfway back on the roof that looks like it probably held a beacon. After nearly 50 years since production, this could have been added by anyone, so I am still trying to dig up history.

Definatly change the fuel pump. Rubber is dry rotted, and will fail at the car show you bring it to.
