What do you think, how much does this thing weigh in at dry?
Anybody ever tow with one of these rigs?

you are looking at roughly 8,000 pounds and i tow a 12 foot enclosed trailer with my 1973 cadillac superior.

Yikes, 8K (about 3K heavier than my jeep).
What's your trailer weigh fully loaded if you don't mind me asking?

Would a '78 MM weigh about the same? Just curious! I read somewhere that they weigh about 6K, but I wouldn't doubt 8K! Monstrosities!

The '78s are much lighter than the previous years of Cads. I would say the 6000 to 6500 range is about right. My '68 Pontiac Superior weighs in at 5600 empty. So not all coaches are obese bitches, just most.

My 78 MM weighs 5420 empty, haven't weighed the 64 Superior yet but it feels much heavier...

Yes it is! My 68 Chev 4x4 panel truck weighs the same and is a tank! ...but it is only 18 1/2 feet long compared to 20 1/2 for the hearse...

My Oldsmobile weights around 6000 pounds and I tow a 4000 pounds trailer with it all the time. Runs great.

Together it is 46 feet long.

Never mind how dirty the car is on the pics, I came back from a 2 week trip with it in rain...

8200 livres is the gross weight on my 76, so I assume that it weighs 6200, maybe 6500 with the 3-way table, and another 100 for optional equipment that I added. I towed it 120 miles on a towbar, with a truck that weighed considerably less. You have to go less than 60, and if it starts to shimmy, you have to hold the steering wheel straight and just wait for it to straighten out. Trying to correct it will make it worse. If I had to tow it again, I would use the Chrysler New Yorker.
