Hearse Discrimination

Well, they asked that no hearses show up even to the event as a spectator. I can understand why, but there is no need to tell me what I can or can't drive to what I want to go to. I drive a hearse as a daily driver, because of that I can't go to their car show? This is my issue. I have some friends who are entered in it, I would swing by to see them, but it's not worth the hassle anymore. Usually I'd do it to ruffle some feathers, but I don't want to waste my time, especially with the cost of fuel these days.

I did a fundraiser with the Prostate foundation, many men die from prostate cancerevery year but that didn't stop them from inviting us to the event & because of the 3 hearses & 1 ambulance, they made extra money. They even came up to us & asked us to come back next year because of the turn out to see the hearses. The coordinators of this looked past the fact the car is a hearse & looked at them as another custom car.

I am used to this, many charities don't want a hearse club to assist them. From my current club to my last club, no one ever permitted hearses at charity functions until the prostate awarness & research car show.

We as a club, along with the 13th Street Morgue Haunted House actually did a fund raiser Hearse Show and Haunt in March to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation in the memory of one of our club members who lost a child...

We have found that some of the most positive reactions we get at shows are from young guys (go figure) and little old ladies...

I can kinda see their reason for it for this one...but cant for a general car show...

I'm sure our cars would bring in more people & raise more money, but it's their loss.

Event grounds? Does that include the parking lot? So even though you're not in the show, you're not allowed to drive you hearse, as a spectator?

We took ours to waffle house yesterday for breakfast and people were outside taking picures with it. Then we went to sams club and came out and people were taking pictures with it. Then people were asking me if they could make reservations for it.

I really haven't gotten any bad feedback on the car, mainly honks and waves and several pictures taken while sitting at gas stations ,only had a dumbass redneck flip me off while on my way out here but thats been the only negative thing so far. Driving this one definetely makes me want to get an old one though so people know right away that I drive it by choice and not making "deliveries"

Maybe ya'll should all move to AL! Haven't had a single negative reaction yet! Of course. I don't drive Judas every day, so I'm probably missing out, but when our truck was out of action for 3 weeks, we drove the hearse! Maybe it's just the area we live in.

Be leary about oklahoma when it comes to that. When we voted to get rid of inspection we gave officers the right to pull us over and inspect our vehicles without probable cause. We gave them the power of a state auto inspector

I have been to a few car shows but I have never been told to leave or anything. I have had complaints but they go in one ear and out the other.

In fact I have been told:

"You are morbid"
"You are condemned to hell"
"You blah blah blah blah..."

And some other phrases from mentioning that I drive a hearse at my work. Not by the fellow employees but by the customers. In fact the employee’s kid with me that I am the only sane one and everyone else is crazy for not driving a hearse.

In fact their is a parking shortage at the university but whenever that I go to my hearse their is always a parking space on all three sides of my car but people are gripping that their are not enough parking spaces... I know of three... But I am glad that they do not park near me as to avoid any dents and scratches as students avoid waling near it for fear of the "evil spirits"...

I have been pulled over by the police in Richmond and asked to be searched. They searched for, im guessing drugs, a few minutes then asked if it was stolen. STOLEN! Um yes officer I stole this hears becuase... I had to get out my proff of insurance and then they checkd it and all was ok but asked to search and then if it was stolen... My dad later told me that I do not have to let them search but I just did what most people I guess would do is to let them search. I had my casket in the back so I guess I am a drug runner in a stolen hearse...

Believe it or not, hearses are used quite frequently for drug running. Who would pull one over? The cops will not be shy about it these days... You don't have to let them search it, but beware the "probable cause" bit. That's all it takes to impound it and wait days for a court order...

Well the show went very well. Lots of positive feedback, lots of good people, lots of pictures taken by people. Only one old guy had anything negative to say, but hey, there is one in every crowd right. And a shout out to Alex and Becca, the only other hearse owners there.

At a recent car show, my husband took Morgana ( our 59 ) to...he parked it with all the other Cadillacs. Many a comment was passed that everyone walked past all the other Cadillacs to see the hearse. The Cadi guys were all dumbfounded on how much attention the hearse got, but thankfully no bad feelings were generated from that, and no nasty comments passed either.

Good luck at your show in FL...I have had many move their "precious" corvette, camaro, etc. when I parked next to them at shows. I always draw the larger crowd to my hearse (whichever I happen to drove in years past) and now I go just to piss the stuck up trailer queen bunch off!!

Mine will be in its first show the last day of this month. put on by a local hot rod club, we shall see how it goes.
