I did 2 car shows on Saturday, no problems except for one ignorant idiot. The idiot kept arguing with me that a hearse isn't legal to own outside of the funeral industry & that a casket barbecue trailer is illegal to tow with propane tanks on it. After a minute or 2 of arguing, I gave up, I could feel my IQ slipping, so I stopped.
Either people are getting used to seeing the hearses (since I now hit up just about every show I can) or the morons that hate them quit showing up, whatever it was, it appears to have changed.

The coolest thing that happened to me this weekend was a lady who is hosting the annual morticians conference here in Phoenix in June of this year wants me to bring the Cremator to the conference. She said she is going to check with the hotel to permit this in the actual lobby. I hope that I can, that would be unimaginably awesome.

      He is right ya know.
And did you also know you can't own a Hummer unless your in the army, or a pick-up truck unless you do construction, and I got to get rid of my Motorhome/school bus 'cause I don't drive for a school district, and my limo has to go also now that the company's done. But there are some grey areas... you can only drive a '57 Chevy w/ fuzzy dice in them, and a Honda HAS to have a 'fart can' so you can hear them comming.

Oh, ya... all you pop camper owners - GET THAT PROPANE TANK OFF THE FRONT!!!

I have an update, I've attended several car shows in the last month & found out why so much hate, or at least why so much hate towards my car. It's jealousy. I attract large crowds around my car, especially when I bring the cremator. I have a unique car & not the dime a dozen Chevelle, Nova, Mustang, T-Bucket, Etc. There is nothing wrong with those cars, but everyone has one.
At the last 3 shows I've entered, the hosts of the shows actually told me that other participants where complaining that I (and the other hearses there from the club) were distracting people away from their rides. I loved it, it's because I am & the others are unique in the choice of vehicles, this is why I/we get so much hate, it's beautiful!
This makes me want to go to more shows & more shows, just to see the looks on other peoples faces. I respect what people drive, I am an asshole, but only if provoked. I do not intentionally tell people to shy away from other vehicles, but that is the impression others at these shows get.

Exactly - I think I mentioned this before in a different thread a long time ago. You do get people that really do hate Hearses for one reason or another, but at shows the main problem is other participants - A hearse will quickly take the wind out of their sails... their $30,000 car just became a hunk of metal people pass as they "gotta check out the Hearse".

Face it, a car show is 98% "Look at me - I'm cool - I have a car worth money"
Where the other 2% (us) are "Look at me - I'm having fun - Don't like it? GFYS!!!"

Exactly! I go to have fun & promote the club, not to win pretty awards, although it is nice to win.

Here's one for you...just today as a matter of fact. One of the other teachers at my wife's school she teaches at is getting married--the 5th grade teachers went together and purchased a nice patio set for her....problem was everyone drives cars. We picked up the set in the '94 this weekend and she took it to school today but had to park in the parallel spaces in front of school due to the size of the car (plus no one better ding my baby). The superintendents office got complaints and she was asked (nicely--otherwise I would be driving it everyday and parking it there myself) to move it to the back lot. If only she was in her last year of teaching would she told them to F-off but she still has to play nice for 2 more! She parked across 4 spaces just for the hell of it then.

                          What a bunch of crap.
I understand the politics of moving the car but it should not be considered offensive since the hearse was designed to honor the deceased, not degrade them.

Reminds me of what happened to Ryan Berry when he first bought the Thacker. The Princible and the on campus cops told him he was not allowed to drive a hearse to school. It wasn't like he drove his '71 full body hearse to school. IT was a Mercury Marquis Station Wagon Conversion. It's the exact same size as a SMALL station wagon.

Good luck at your show in FL...I have had many move their "precious" corvette, camaro, etc. when I parked next to them at shows. I always draw the larger crowd to my hearse (whichever I happen to drove in years past) and now I go just to piss the stuck up trailer queen bunch off!!
